Danita E. Patterson, CEO

Danita E. Patterson, Founder & CEO of Destiny Outreach®, is a creative visionary who has dedicated her life's work to empowering people to dream and live their destiny through positive media and human development education. Danita has utilized her 18 years of entertainment media knowledge to enhance the fields of education by creating “edutainment” programs, consulting with the Chicago Public Schools' Learning Technologies Department, while enhancing the human development of young people and adults in engaging learning environments.

As a dynamic public speaker, Danita has been a guest speaker/teacher for Americorp's National Civilian Community Corps, the South African Leadership Development Tour (Macedonia Bible Fellowship), and keynote speaker for Chicago Communities in Schools Spring Principal & Site Coordinator Annual Recognition Breakfast, the YMCA Black & Hispanic Achievers Program Banquet), and the Mid-America Association of Educational Opportunity Program Personnel (MAEOPP) & TRIO Programs' Pre-College Student Leadership Conference. Her community service involvements include working closely with churches and being a part of the sponsorship committee for the Children's Defense Fund's 25th Anniversary Celebration. She has also served as Media Relations Coordinator for world-renowned motivational speaker/teacher Les Brown and the Illinois Fatherhood Initiative during their startup years. Currently, she sits on the Board of Directors at large for Northwestern University's Alumni Association, where she chairs the Young Alumni Committee.

Danita is also founding president of Destiny Unlimited, Inc., an entertainment company developing quality TV, film, and interactive children and family programming. As a producer and writer, her production credits and development work over 17 years include more than 150 episodes of television program ming for ABC, NBC, CBS and Tribune Entertainment/WGN networks and local affiliates. She has worked as Director of Development and Administrative Manager for actor, Will Smith on the sitcom “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and served as a programming consultant and producer for other celebrities, media projects and production companies.

Danita holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Northwestern University in Radio, TV and Film. She has completed advanced entrepreneurial courses at the University of Southern California and Chicago State University and she has also completed several courses in Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management Executive Education for Nonprofit Leaders program. Additionally, Danita was nominated for an Anne E. Casey Foundation Fellowship in 2000.
